About Off The Shelf
Off the Shelf Festival of Words runs from 8th until 29th October 2011 in a wide range of venues throughout Sheffield.
Off the Shelf is a dynamic, distinctive and diverse annual festival of words. This years programme will comprise of around 200 events celebrating literature in all its forms including readings, debates, workshops, poetry, storytelling, readers’ events, walks, talks, community events, a programme for children and young people and more.
The 2011 festival will offer an enticing line up of writers including Michael Parkinson, Claire Tomalin, Rob Brydon, Jeremy Paxman, Polly Toynbee, Will Self, Ian Kershaw, Alison Weir, Wendy Cope, John Hegarty, Roy Strong, Joe Dunthorne, Christopher Lloyd, Dalgit Nagra and many more. Off the Shelf also offers special events throughout the year and mini festivals such as Highlighting History 2 – 4 March 2012.
Off the Shelf is organised by the Culture Department of Sheffield City Council.
