DOWNLOAD 2012 at Donington Park
Download is back, returning to Donington Park in June 2012, and it's safe to say that 2012 is going to be our biggest year ever.
The Prodigy are coming back to Download in 2012, and have promised to deliver their most energetic and spectacular performance they’ve ever put on at Donington. Following some phenomenal sets in previous years, this is sure to be one incredible show.
"We have chosen to headline Download Festival as our only uk festival show next year," said the band on Facebook. "(We) will be playin some new songs for the first time from our next album due later 2012 ........ see you there - Liam, Keef & Maxim".
Metallica will be headlining Saturday night at Download, performing The Black Album in its entirety, whilst the mighty Black Sabbath will be marking their hugely anticipated comeback with a headline slot on the Sunday night at the festival.
Metallica, the multi-million selling, Grammy award winning band will visit Donington for the SEVENTH time in their career, having played both Monsters of Rock and Download festivals during their epic career.
Black Sabbath will be headlining on the Sunday night,performing as their original line-up - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward - have confirmed they will return to their roots to headline the Download Festival next summer on Sunday 10 June 2012. Widely regarded as creators of heavy metal, the hugely influential band from Aston, Birmingham, have sold in excess of 70 million records worldwide and are responsible for all time classic rock anthems such as Paranoid, War Pigs and Iron Man.

This is the news you’ve been waiting for all year! Fourteen more bands for the Download 2012 line-up! All of them true behemoths, set to blow your MIND at Donington in June!
Subbing headliners on the 2012 bill are none other than Electronic / Dubstep duo Chase and Status, who will play on Friday just before The Prodigy hit the stage, with Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro returning to Donington for the 5th time on the Saturday ahead of Metallica’s prolific return to the hallowed turf.
Chris Cornell and the rest of Soundgarden play Donington for the first time EVER on the Sunday, taking to the Main Stage just before Black Sabbath’s headline set.
“We are beyond psyched to play Download 2012,” said Matt from the band. “It will be a huge year for the band and what better way to celebrate than bring it all to our UK family at Download. See you there!”
Also revealed in this announcement are Machine Head, Tenacious D and You Me At Six, PLUS Trivum, Lamb of God and DevilDriver, The Devin Townsend Project, reformed UK rockers Little Angels, thrash icons, Anthrax, as well as Ugly Kid Joe and August Burns Red, completing what is an announcement of epic proportions.
Weekend tickets for Download 2012 go on general sale 9am Friday 18th November 2011. Weekend ticket prices will remain the same as the prices for Download 2011 until midday Wednesday 2nd February 2012 when all ticket types will go off sale.
All tickets will go back on sale at 5pm on Thursday 2nd February, from this time the prices will be as follows:-
Day Tickets £75
Weekend arena only: £155
Weekend arena with 3 night camping: £180
Weekend arena with 5 night camping: £190
Weekend tickets are subject an £11.75 booking fee, day tickets are subject to a £6.75 booking fee.
Car Parking tcikets are now sold out.
